• The first non-linear edit suite used by Missing Link in 1997 held a maximum of 10 minutes of recorded material!

• A three minute promotion can consist of around 100 edit decisions!

• Missing Link now has 3 edit suites each with dual monitor displays due to the complexity of modern editing software.

Video Editing

The means for editing videos has changed dramatically since Missing Link was established as a Kent video production company 10 years ago. In the early days video decks were connected and analogue signals passed through a vision mixer in real time. The material was recorded in linear fashion i.e. in-line on to the tape.

Video footage can be edited to our client's brief, or at our client's direction at our studios.

Computer Editing

The introduction of computer editing enabled material that had been digitised to be manipulated and revised without loss of quality and in any order, no longer "in-line" giving rise to the term "non-linear" editing. Computer applications led to genuine digital video production.
