Commentary

In 1929, Ralph Reader produced a revue with the Scouts and Rovers of his District in Holborn. This attracted the attention of the Scout County Commissioner for London who invited him to stage something similar but on a grander scale. The London Gang Show was born and later Ralph made his material available for future Scout performances.

The Gang Show

Gang Shows operate within the guidelines of the Scout Association. Prior approval is required after which the Gang can wear the famous Gang Show red scarf.

While all Gang Shows have their roots in the original shows by Ralph Reader, each region has its own history and style. The common denominator is the fun young people have both on stage and behind the scenes. Just watch the smiles as the gang "ride along on the crest of a wave"!
